AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 13

Somethin’ changed in this heart of mine, you know that I’m so glad that you showed me. Honey, now you’re my best friend, I want to stay together ’til the very end. Ooh, it was the best time I can remember, and now I have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for these folks.

Orange Cassidy vs. Wardlow (c) (AEW TNT Championship)

Facing off, Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets, Wardlow rushes in and pulls them out, then ripping the pockets out of his pants! Orange puts the straps back up on Mr. Mayhem’s singlet and flexes! Wardlow with a lariat, he blocks the satellite DDT, some boots ot the gut, Cassidy ducks a powerbomb!

Off the ropes, satellite headscissors but Mr. Mayhem lands on his feet! Trent Beretta pops up on the apron and runs interference and Chuck Taylor slides a chainsaw into the ring?! Referee Bryce Remsburg ejects Best Friends AND their chainsaw! Low bridge, action to the floor, Cassidy runs away and Wardlow pulls Danhausen out from under the ringhausen!

Danhausen goes to curse him but backs off, but the opening is still created… ORANGE PUNCH! Back inside, another one but Wardlow blocks and belly-to-belly suplexes Orange out of the damn ring and sends us to break!

Back from commercial, Cassidy ducks a lariat, smashes Wardlow’s face into the corner, diving crossbody caught, Orange slips out and hits a chop block! Another chop block, big DDT, off the ropes, a satellite DDT puts the exclamation point out of it… WARDLOW KICKS OUT BEFORE ONE!

F-10 connects… CASSIDY KICKS OUT! Powerbomb lift, Orange with right hands to try and fight out of it but Mr. Mayhem won’t break his grip! Reversed with a Frankensteiner, Wardlow to the floor and Cassidy hits the suicide dive! Putting Wardlow into the post once, twice, back inside, diving DDT caught!

Reversal reversed, Stundog Millionaire, another Orange Punch… BEACH BREAK! WARDLOW KICKS OUT?! Back in, Orange Punch countered…

Wardlow wins by pinfall with a powerbomb to retain the AEW TNT Championship.

Post-match, Wardlow offers Cassidy a fist bump and he accepts it.

We get a recap of PAC’s successful defense of the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Shota Umino in RevPro.

Chris Jericho makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says he stands before us as Chris Jericho the living legend and Eddie Kingston’s superior. He says Eddie’s said every drop of blood in their upcoming match is for his friends, but being friends with Eddie Kingston is a worse curse than anything Danhausen can ever conjure up.

Ortiz? He got his head shaved and lost his dignity. Santana? Taken out at Blood & Guts. Bryan Danielson? Taken out at Anarchy in the Arena. And then there’s Ruby Soho, with a mangled hand and a crushed career.

And why barbed wire? He knows Eddie’s a mark for Terry Funk and Atsushi Onita and Sabu, but how many barbed wire matches has he been in? Chris says he won the first barbed wire match in Canada when he was 22 and even though the pain was unbearable, deep inside he felt pleasure.

But next week he’s not facing Chris Jericho, he’s facing the Painmaker, who is undefeated in AEW. This match is it, there will be no more excuses after next week, and deep down inside Eddie knows he’ll never be at Jericho’s level. If you want blood, Eddie Kingston, you got it.

Every drop of blood he sheds is one of his sins? He’ll make a flood of Kingston’s blood so huge that Noah would be jealous, and Eddie’s not a liar, he’s a loser.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Eddie Kingston cuts a promo.

He tells Jericho to bring the Painmaker, bring the most violent person he can imagine, it doesn’t matter, he’s gonna pay with every ounce of his blood. He’s gonna hurt him and enjoy it.

Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita

Test of strength feint, collar and elbow, Moxley with a hammerlock, Takeshita reverses to a headlock, reversed, shot off, shoulder blocks on shoulder blocks, testing each other until Jon pops him with a slap and a chop and a side headlock takeover! Konosuke lands a leg lariat, a chop, Mox takes the challenge and they trade chops!

Jon with a piledriver for two, he shifts to a kneeling rear chinlock but Takeshita makes the ropes! Trading strikes on the apron, Takeshita hits a German suplex and Moxley collapses to the floor! Trading elbows, Konosuke throws him back in the ring but Jon cuts him off with a big boot to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Moxley plants him with a German suplex and we see that Takeshita’s been busted open! Off the ropes, Konosuke with a leaping lariat, jockeying for position, Takeshita hits the brainbuster… SO CLOSE! Frog splash… KNEES UP! Mox gets the reverse chinlock, falls back, changing gears looking for the cross armbar and he gets it!

Konosuke kicking to try and free himself and he gets the ropes! To the floor, Takeshita with a top con giro! Back inside, another frog splash… MOXLEY KICKS OUT! Double lariats, both men clubbing each other hard, sleeper reversed… BLUE THUNDER DRIVER! Both men down and out, falling into a double pin… NOPE!

Paradigm Shift connects, overhead elbows, underhooks for Death Rider, Takeshita slips out, rolling elbow into a German suplex… JON MOXLEY WILL NOT STAY DOWN! Another Death Rider, more elbows, bulldog choke… IT’S OVER!

Jon Moxley wins by submission with the bulldog choke.

A House of Black vignette follows.

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus come to the stage with Varsity Blonds in the ring.

Christian cuts a promo about how Brian Pillman would be appalled to know his final contribution to this business was this dork son of his. Something was bothering him about Griff Garrison and he couldn’t put his finger on it until he realized he looks like Jungle Boy.

Griff Garrison vs. Luchasaurus

Big dino man is dominant and squashes Garrison but Cage demands he chokeslam him a second time before putting the Snare Trap on with a trapezius claw…

Luchasaurus wins by submission with Tar Pit.

Post-match, Luchasaurus chokeslams Griffin into Pillman, Jr. and through the timekeeper’s table!

2.0 and Daniel Garcia are interviewed backstage.

They’re sick of cages and have questions and they want the rest of Eddie’s pals in a cage too. Garcia says he gets why they want him in a shark cage, he’s nasty and dangerous and Wheeler YUTA’s been doing his best Daniel Garcia cosplay for the last six months and he’s gonna take the ROH Pure Championship from him at Death Before Dishonor.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, “Hangman” Adam Page is interviewed backstage.

He’s a little disappointed he didn’t get the title shot out of Royal Rampage, but—

Beaver Boys roll up.

John Silver says they’re pissed off on Page’s behalf and they challenge those spooky dorks in House of Black to a match on Rampage.

Jim Ross makes his entrance and joins commentary.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Jake Hager

Castagnoli right in with a wicked uppercut, Neutralizer blocked, looking for the Giant Swing but Hager gets the ropes! Big boot blasts Jake off the apron, to the floor and Hager drops Claudio with a lariat! Back inside, Vader Bomb countered, Hager grabs the ankle lock, kicked into the ropes, Castagnoli shrugs… TIGER FEINT KICK GETS A TWO COUNT!

Whip reversed, Hager with a charging lariat, corner lariats, Claudio turns him around for uppercuts, more lariats from Jake, duck one, big uppercut, off the ropes, basement dropkick into a bulldog for two! Smashing Hager’s face into the turnbuckles over and over again, crossface strike, headed up top but Jake cuts him off!

Hossing Castagnoli up, big twisting spinebuster, body blows in the corner. A big biel, Vader Bomb, cover for two and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Hager gets a nearfall, short-arm lariat, clubbing away at each other! Action to the floor, Castagnoli with an uppercut against the barricade, throwing Jake back inside, headed up top, diving crossbody… SO CLOSE! Double leg, giant swing, into the Sharpshooter!

Hager crawling desperately, waving for help, and 2.0 come running down! Claudio breaks the hold to fend them off and Jake catches him with a huge Bossman Slam! Cover for two, ankle lock applied, Castagnoli fights him off with upkicks. High angle back suplex, Claudio back to the Sharpshooter but again Angelo Parker and Matt Menard run interference!

Off the ropes… SWISS DEATH! Cross the arms…

Claudio Castagnoli wins by pinfall with the Ricola Bomb.

Backstage, HOOK is interviewed.

Asked about his undefeated record, he says nothing and walks off to send us to break.

Back from commercial I have a copy/paste error and lose my live read of the segment but suffice it to say we got a backstage interview with ThunderStorm and Team DMD where they sniped back and forth.

Anna Jay vs Serena Deeb

Circling, collar and elbow, Deeb with a hammerlock, a leg pick, a Gedo Clutch, only one. Headlock takeover, kip-up, back to the headlock. Off the ropes, shoulder block, hip tosses blocked, arm drag, reverse STO from Jay! Off the ropes, slide under, sunset flip, can opener but Anna reverses to a pin for two.

Queenslayer, Serena gets to the ropes and hangs her on them to break the hold. Fisherman neckbreaker for two and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Jay with a flurry of forearms and an uppercut, duck a lariat, flying forearm sends her into the corner! Backsplash, northern lights suplex, cover for two! Queenslayer blocked, Deeb with a European Clutch, no dice! Duck a lariat, block the hip toss, roll through a backslide clutch multiple times, trap the arms, back body drop reverses!

Sunset flip, only two, rolling around, reverse Lotus Lock neck crank situation, reversed for a nearfall! Low crescent kick, whip to the corner, sidestep, Deeb with a dragon screw in the ropes! Anna reverses, Queenslayer in the middle of the ring but Serena posts around and gets to her feet!

Arm drag, stepover armlock…

Serena Deeb wins by submission with the Serenity Lock.
