Eurovision audience boo as Great Britain doesn’t get any points – but viewers here aren’t shocked

Great Britain finished the Eurovision Song Contest again with 0 points in last place.

Host Graham Norton said the British contribution James Newman – the younger brother of the singer John Newman. – really didn’t deserve not to get any points.

“It really wasn’t the worst song,” he added.

People booed in the crowd when the result was announced and showed solidarity with the singer-songwriter.

For most viewers, however, it wasn’t a shock.

In 2019, James Rice finished last, 26th.

The theme of this year’s competition was “Open Up”.

The performers were there in person – with the exception of Iceland after a positive Covid test.
