Grocery Baskets for the Visually Impaired – FBC News

Over 35 visually impaired people are supported with food baskets and personal protective equipment.

The National Disability Awards Committee and United Blind Persons of Fiji support its members in the Western Division by handing over food packages worth USD 60 and PPE worth USD 25.

Rajnel Prasad, chairman of the National Disability Awards, says it is important to help these people as many have lost their jobs and members who live with families have no source of income.

He says the team decided to support the western division first because support was asked for.

This assistance is given to all visually impaired members living from Sigatoka to Rakiraki.

The western team of the COVID-19 self-help group, which is also visually impaired, will hinder its colleagues and friends to show solidarity with its members.
