How Kareena Kapoor Khan got fit after her pregnancies

We’re on the top floor of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s new four-story apartment in Mumbai’s upscale suburb of Bandra doing a cover shoot for HT Brunch. The images are intended to accompany the publication of her book Kareena Kapoor’s Pregnancy Bible, which was published by Juggernaut. But there is a problem: the actress, who poses in a black Shivan and Narresh bikini, looks anything but a mother of two!

How did Kareena Kapoor Khan get so fit so quickly? And where does the food go that the Kapoor Khandaan is so passionate about?

“I gained a lot of weight during both of my pregnancies, but I don’t put any pressure on myself to look like,” says Kareena. “In general, I like to exercise, I love yoga, I love plates, I like doing things. I lost 10 kg and I still have 10 to go, ”she says, referring to pregnancy weight after giving birth to her second son, Jehangir Ali Khan, in February 2021.

“Fitness is my high. It’s not someone telling me to do this. It’s not that I’ve signed five films and have to wear shorts… ”says Kareena. “I really want to be a fit mother.”

“When you’re feeling fit, it’s not just about vanity,” she says. “Unfortunately, it’s sad that fitness and vanity are constantly thrown together. They are not the same. The idea is how you feel. I want to wake up in the morning and go running because I feel good, I don’t want to do it, because I want to build quads, have a bikini body, and so on, ”says Kareena. “Please … that’s fine!”

In the book, Kareena also talks about her diet. “I don’t eat raw vegetables or juices,” she writes. “Give me a mutton paya soup every day!” Regarding her nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who accompanied her during her pregnancies and still does today.

This cover shoot is a compensatory one. After Kareena Kapoor did her first pregnancy magazine cover in November 2016 when she was with Taimur for 8 months, she was ready to do another one for HT brunch in December 2020. Even an appointment was made. Unfortunately, she became ill and was given strict bed rest. Before extraditing Jeh, Kareena managed to wrap her notes but could not do the cover.

“The reality of pregnancy isn’t the glamorous magazine covers I’ve done,” Kareena adds, referring to her iconic HT brunch cover, “Bebo’s Baby Bump,” from December 2016, a premiere for a top Bollywood actress . Kareena continued to advertise during both of her pregnancies. “The reality of things is that in the final trimester you feel like you curl up and wake up on your due date. I was better prepared for Jeh’s pregnancy, but it was more difficult because I was four and a half years older. I gained a lot of weight during both of my pregnancies, although I tried very hard not to do it in the second. I was very active, I ran a lot, I did yoga, but my Punjabi genes got the better of me and I still put on weight. “
